When asked about how she transitioned from the petroleum sector in Norway to the beauty and media industry in Dubai, Mera Taleb responded: “I began my professional life in the petroleum sector in Norway, but I soon felt the need for new challenges, which led me to move to Dubai at a young age. Dubai became the place where my journey of challenges and changes truly began. I continued my studies in skincare and hair care and opened a beauty center, which became the starting point for my media journey.”
Discussing her experience in the media industry, Mera shared: “During ten years in the media industry, I presented a program focused on beauty and everything related to women, which broadened my knowledge and expertise. Then, in 2018, I decided to embark on a new adventure in the world of acting, participating in a Netflix film, followed by roles in Gulf and Iraqi series. This was a new and exciting experience that opened up different horizons for me in the art world.”
On her profound commitment to humanitarian work, Mera explained: “On a humanitarian level, I take pride in my role as the Secretary-General of a humanitarian organization dedicated to orphans. I find this work to be a noble mission that touches my heart, as the joy of orphans brings me happiness and satisfaction.”
When asked about the biggest challenges she faced in balancing her diverse specialties, Mera responded: “The greatest challenges I’ve faced were balancing my various specialties. It wasn’t easy transitioning between media, acting, business management, and beauty. In this journey, there were significant losses and successes. However, overcoming these challenges required courage, boldness, and self-confidence.”
Regarding her most significant professional achievements, Mera highlighted: “I consider one of my greatest achievements to be successfully distinguishing between media and acting. Although the common factor is the camera, each has its own world. Maintaining spontaneity and authenticity in both was the secret that helped me succeed.”
Speaking about her role models and influences, Mera noted: “I draw inspiration from every successful and persistent personality. However, humanitarian work has the greatest impact on me, as it provides me with the strength and determination to continue working and achieving my goals.”
When discussing her future aspirations and goals, Mera stated: “I have many ideas and future goals in mind. In the media field, I plan to present a humanitarian program aimed at delivering a meaningful and noble message. In acting, I aspire to take on roles different from those I have previously portrayed. Additionally, I aim to launch my own brand, offering innovative and high-quality products.”
On maintaining a work-life balance and advice for beginners, Mera shared: “I believe that good health is the foundation of success. To deliver quality work, I must trust and love myself. Even if I fail, failure is our greatest teacher, and from it, we craft success. Never give up; love yourself, believe in your abilities, and you’ll achieve accomplishments beyond your expectations. Fear of failure and lack of confidence won’t advance you even a single step.”
“For beginners, be positive, educate yourself, and always be ready to develop your skills through courses, even online. Beware of arrogance, as it is the grave of success. Don’t give up, and learn from everyone around you, as success requires continuous effort and endless learning.”
Discussing the impact of technology on her journey, Mera said: “Technology has played a significant role in reaching others. I believe that creating quality content and delivering it through technology is a success in itself. I think artificial intelligence will be one of the most important developments that will have a substantial impact and serve as a great assistant in the future.”
When asked about her personal interests outside of her career, Mera shared: “Beyond my career in media and acting, I find happiness in humanitarian work, through activities supporting orphanages and elderly care homes. Additionally, travel, fashion, and alternative medicine with herbs occupy a significant part of my personal passion.”
