Although you may have been several Thai restaurants in India, have you ever wondered why Indians find Thai food to be so alluring? Thai food is mostly focused on curry, which is comparable to Indian cuisine; however, one significant difference is that Thai cuisine features a coconut-based curry to which other spices are added. The commonalities between Indian and Thai dishes appeal to Indians. Furthermore, Thai cuisine is said to be influenced by Indian cuisine.
Thailand is a small country, but it has its own distinct flavour. Walking through Bangkok’s streets will undoubtedly fill your nostrils with the perfume of savoury spices.
Thai cuisine is divided into four categories: yam (spicy salads), tom (boiled meals), tam (pounded fish), and kaeng (curries). In addition to the types, Thailand has four different styles of cooking: Northern, which highlights the use of sticky rice, North-Eastern, which employs spices and fish, Central, which stresses Jasmine rice and is home to the royal cuisine, and Southern, which is well-known outside Thailand as one of the tourist attractions in gastronomy and consists of a coconut-flavored curry.
Here are 8 Thai dishes that will either make you want to visit Thailand immediately or rush to the Thai restaurants closest to you.
1. Pad Thai
Pad Thai is a nutrient-rich cuisine made with rice noodles, stir-fried eggs, and tofu, along with tamarind juice, onion, pepper, palm sugar, and other ingredients. It is recognised as a staple of Thai street food. Five flavours can be found in a bowl of pad thai: umami, sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. One spoon makes you want to savour the food since it touches all of your senses at once.

2. Khao Niao
It is a crucial component of the North Eastern cooking technique. In essence, it refers to “sticky rice,” a popular dish in Laos and northern Thailand. Since it is so ingrained in their culture, they frequently refer to “Khao Niao” as “children or grandchildren of sticky rice” and employ “sticky rice” in practically all culinary combinations.

3. Gai Yang
Gai yang, or Thai Grilled Chicken, is one of Thailand’s most delicious dishes. It makes extensive use of cilantro and lemongrass, as well as good fish sauce. Gai Yang has the ability to catch your nose right when you come into a restaurant, even if you are nowhere near the kitchen. It is the ideal food combination because of the juicy meat and crispy chicken.

4. Gai Hor Bai Toey
Pandan leaf-wrapped fried chicken. In South East Asia, pandan leaves are frequently consumed. These leaves have a vanilla scent, which adds a unique flavour to the dish.
In order to make the chicken crispy and flavorful, it is first wrapped in pandan then fried in a wok.
5. Sai Oua
If you need a snack to go with your drinks, the popular Thai sausage from the north of the country is ideal. To make it spicy, lemongrass, ground pork, and several spices are used. Sai Oua is the most succulent sausage you may have ever tasted, and it has a distinct aroma from the various flavours that are combined and grilled.
6. Hoi Tod
One of Thailand’s most well-liked street foods is hoi tod. The oyster omelette or pancake with mussels is delectable. It has a crisp and flavorful texture. Anytime of the day is a good time to eat hoi tod. It is additionally served with a sweet chilli sauce to enhance its already delectable flavour.
7. Khao Mok Gai
You have probably heard of Hyderabadi Biryani, but have you ever heard of the authentic Thai Biryani? The Muslims that live in Thailand have an impact on the cuisine known as Khao Mok Gai. The ingredients are turmeric rice, onions, and cucumber slices, along with Indian spices. This dish is considered to be an excellent meal.

8. Kanom Jeeb
One of the top tourist attractions in Thailand are the steamed dumplings. Garlic, ginger, shrimp, mushrooms, sesame oil, eggs, cilantro, rice vinegar, and red chilli are all included in the classic steamed dumplings. Kanom Jeeb translates to “pleated dumplings,” which are customarily cooked in a bamboo steamer. They are eaten with chopsticks and served with Thai soy sauce.
There are many more Thai dishes. Thai soups come in a variety of varieties, including Tom Yum, Khao Soi, and others. Also, there are several types of curries, such as green, red, and yellow curries. Thus, one of the reasons why Thai cuisine is favoured is that it offers a variety of food pairings with the best herbs and spices combined so that the person eating may feel all the flavours at once. Thai food is highly nutritious because it is made with vegetables, proteins, herbs, and spices. Hence, if you ever visit Thailand, remember to pack your appetite since you will get weary of eating Thai delicacies as the list goes on and on.
